Rimini, 17th March 2010 . Two more halls than in 2009 and over 400 companies exhibiting directly and represented occupying 40,000 square metres. The 22nd edition of the ENADA SPRING expo for trade members from the gaming and amusement sector, leader in Italy and in Europe, opened this morning at Rimini Fiera under a successful star.
The SAPAR expo, which the Rimini company organizes in March in Rimini and in October in Rome, with the sponsorship of the AAMS, the support of EUROMAT and the collaboration of ASCOB, FIDART, ANESV and S.I.CON., will close on March 20th.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony by SAPAR chairman Raffaele Curcio and Rimini Fiera chairman Lorenzo Cagnoni, a press conference was held, organized by the association, to discuss the current hottest issues. Speakers included Francesco Rodano, director of Office 1 (control of management and surveillance) of Italy´s State Monopoly Administration.

The four days of ENADA SPRING will offer an all-round insight on the amusement business. For the actual expo, the conferences and events all the key players will meet: owners of public gaming halls, amusement arcades, billiard halls, bingo halls, pubs, bars, restaurants, resorts, bathing establishments, theme parks, amusement parks and FEC (Family Entertainment Centres). Plus manufacturers, owners renters and repairers of automatic and other types of gaming and amusement machines, bet collection points, video lottery operators, betting shops, shopping centres and malls, private clubs and collective organizations.
The turnover generated each year in Italy by the betting and public game sector is equivalent to 3.5% of the GDP. In 2009, overall takings reached 54.4 billion euros, with an increase of 14.4% on 2008 due to various factors, from the recovery of part of illicit gaming to the strengthening of the sales network. The positive trend is also continuing in 2010, with takings in January of 5,224 million euros (15.5% more than January 2009). As far as the coin-up amusement market is concerned, there are 350,000 machines installed in approximately 100,000 public and commercial venues, amusement arcades and stores specialized in the sale of public games. SAPAR has approximately 1,200 management company members.

In his welcoming speech, Chairman Cagnoni thanked SAPAR: ´The perfect sync of our partnership is one of the first reasons of the expo´s success and here I´d like to remind you that just last week we signed the extension of the contract that unites us for the organization of ENADA ROME and ENADA SPRING until 2019. I think this is one of the best demonstrations of the reciprocal esteem that through the years has given excellent results and also keeps our hopes high for the future. This long-term vision will enable to organize events that have an increasingly international profile and aim at fully satisfying exhibiting companies´ business objectives, turning the spotlight on a trade that continues to grow at a considerable rate year after year.´
Chairman Curcio said, ´At SAPAR we are proud of this expo. ENADA SPRING grows year by year and represents a winning cooperation between networks and owners. Rimini Fiera´s professionalism is an absolute guarantee and the expo we have just inaugurated bears this out to the full. In this edition the great success of the AWP is well represented, and machines with cash prizes now account for 47% of the game market. I´d therefore like to stress the need to highlight other sectors, other amusement machines that in this period are rather overshadowed. I´m talking about the games for kiddies and families, which are purely for playing. We shall work with the AAMS to enable this sector to recover a larger market share. Plus, Video Lotteries are at their official debut here at ENADA SPRING: I hope they have great success and contribute to increasing the game and gaming industry and the entire trade chain.´
Francesco Rodano concluded: ´This is the first time I have visited this exhibition and I am struck by the beautiful expo centre and its organization ability. This is a very important period for the game world, technological evolution introduces new opportunities, as far as the actual games are concerned and for better control of their legality. In order for the former to be responsible and the latter effective, they must interact. This is why, as AAMS, we shall take part in various events at ENADA SPRING, hold meetings and networking with trade members along the entire line. Everybody involved, from the Government to the companies, must ensure the utmost legality, to achieve a development that is entirely real. Legality and responsible gaming are part of a virtuous circle based on networking.´
